Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Site Safety Plus




The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a five-day course which provides project managers, site managers and supervisors with knowledge and skills to enable them to ensure healthy and safe conditions for construction site employees.

This Site Safety Plus course is designed for managers and agents who are responsible, or are about to be responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.


The aims and objectives of the SMSTS are to:


             •  Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legislation

             •  Understand the who is responsible and accountable for site health, safety and welfare

             •  Recognise what makes a site safe, efficient, economical and productive

             •  Implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affecting operatives

             •  Implement new guidance and industry best practice

             •  State their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment


Entry Requirements


There are no formal entry requirements however delegates should hold or are about to hold the role of a construction manager.


Course Duration and Assessment


The SMSTS runs for 5 days and the method of assessment will be multiple-choice questions at the end of the course.

Location


This course will be delivered at our training facility of G&C Training Centre Ltd. based in Chessington, Surrey within the London Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.
