L2 NVQ Diploma in Site Logistics Operations




This qualification is for individuals who wish to carry out activities on a construction site related to Site Logistics.

The construction logistics manager/supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the logistics supply chain, stores management, development and optimisation of site logistics solutions. The logistics manager/supervisor is required to manage the movement of people, goods and equipment on a construction site and control site facilities.

The key responsibilities of a logistics manager/supervisor is to ensure early engagement with the project planner; the commercial managers and the construction managers on the site. The role of construction logistics manager/supervisor is to ensure that the construction team is fully aware of logistics activities on the construction site.

Entry Requirements


This NVQ qualification is suitable for any construction operative that is currently working or intends to work as a site logistics manager or supervisor. Experience of working on a construction site is beneficial as is knowledge of the working of how a site operates.


Course Duration


The minimum length of the assessments from the candidate’s registration to the actual achievement of the NVQ is between a minimum 3 months and the maximum of 9 months depending on how soon the candidate can gather the relevant evidence upon how many visits the assessor requires.


Programme


This qualification consists of 4 mandatory units and 1 optional unit. The learner will need to demonstrate competency in the following units:


             •  Preparing and operating powered units, tools or pedestrian plant, machinery or equipment in the workplace

             •  Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace

             •  Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace

             •  Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace

             •  Erecting and Dismantling Access/Working Platforms in the Workplace

             •  Establishing Work Area Protection and Safety in the Workplace

             •  Segregating the Area for Highways Works in the Workplace

             •  Preparing for, and arranging and securing plant or machinery for transportation in the workplace

             •  Slinging and hand signalling the movement of suspended loads in the workplace

             •  Controlling Vehicular Traffic on Construction Sites


This qualification and the units which form it have been designed to sit within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) which is regulated by Ofqual.


Location


This course will be delivered at our training facility of G&C Training Centre Ltd. based in Chessington, Surrey within the London Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.
