1 Day Health and Safety Awareness (HSA)




The 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is your ticket to obtain the Labourer (Green) CSCS Card. The Health and Safety Awareness is a CITB accredited course which is part of the Site Safety Plus Scheme. The HSA course is mandatory for all construction operatives who are currently working or intending to work as labourers in the construction and civil engineering industry.

The HSA course covers many key areas of Health and Safety procedures and legislation which is required knowledge for working safely on site. The course will provide simple but comprehensive information to the major topics and issues to keep yourself and other safe in the workplace.

The training you will receive on the HSA will give you a good grounding in general health and safety at work principles such as:


             • Recognising hazards and avoiding risks at work

             • Minimising accidents and illness at work

             • What are the responsibilities and legal requirements of workers

             • Workplace emergency procedures such as fire evacuation and calling the emergency services


Entry Requirements


As of July 2014 it is now mandatory to pass and complete the Site 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course for all construction operative who want to gain the Labourer (Green) CSCS Card.

The Green Labourer Card is suitable for all construction operatives who are currently working or intending to work as labourers in the construction and civil engineering industry.

It is important to note that all operatives must also pass and complete the Health Safety and Environment Computer Test in conjunction with the HSA in order to gain the Labourer (Green) CSCS Card. For more information on Health Safety and Environment Computer Test please click this link.


Course Duration


The Health and Safety Awareness course runs for one full day.

             •  Fire Prevention and Control

             •  Hazardous Substances

             •  Electrical Safety

             •  Handheld Equipment and Tools

             •  Noise and Vibration

             •  Site Transport Safety

             •  Excavations and Confined Spaces


Location


This course will be delivered at our training facility of G&C Training Centre Ltd. based in Chessington, Surrey within the London Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.
